Plattsburgh, NY: Have your eyes ever come across something and you feel like you've already seen it? Have you ever wished you had eyes in the back of your head? Have you ever been watching tv, and decided to use the picture-in-picture function so that you could see two things at once?
Well welcome to the life of Randy "Biclops" Lozier. Lozier's left eye seems to be "hanging on by a thread" as he can move it around, swirl it, and make it swing like a pendulum, all while keeping his right eye fixated on something else. "That's why he's such a good referee!" exclaims Luther Brewster, longtime friend of Lozier. "He can see the ball, and yet he can also see the other half of the field/court. Most refs or umps are blind. Randy has two visions."
"I think that's why he's so good a poker," cites Carrie Oakey, fellow pal of Lozier. "He can watch the other people's faces, and somehow he can probably even see their cards!" Lozier is not only a phenomenal poker player, but he can get the crowd going like no other. "On the cruise, people would gather around Randy's table just for entertainment, despite the fact that there was a comedian just next door," says Oakey. "One couple even came out of their honeymoon stateroom so they could be entertained…now that says a lot about this guy!"
"That's why he's so good at giving personal help. He can see problems from different angles, and he can see both sides of the situation at the same time," admits Otis Terry Sanderson. "And he's NEVER wrong…EVER! Sometimes I think his left eye can actually see into the future. Whenever someone does something that doesn't turn out right, he's always quick to say that 'you should have done it like this.' I often times will call him up on a Friday night just to see which bartenders are pouring heavily that day."
Some may call it a freak of nature, and some may be disturbed by the sight of his eyes spreading to two different directions. But if you ask me, it's a sight to be seen…by both eyes.
